“After trying to manage the bright-work myself with poor results, and then having it done at one of the Bay marinas with still poor results, I came across Jeff’s ad and decided to give Jeff a try. We are glad we did! Jeff has now worked on our boat for the past several years, and my wife and I couldn’t be happier. He is a perfectionist and his quality is flawless; not something that’s easy to do with bright-work. I can’t imagine using anyone else to maintain our bright-work.”

"I had observed Jeff stripping the teak on another Island Packet in our marina last year, and was impressed by his work.  I eventually asked the owners for Jeff's contact information and we got in touch with him this spring.  Jeff stripped our teak toe rail and bowsprit.  We asked him to use the product that had previously been on the teak—Honey Teak—and while Jeff was unfamiliar with it, he agreed to do so.  As you can see from our photos, Jeff did a wonderful job.  The teak looks terrific.  We fully intend to have Jeff do other areas of teak on the boat next season. "We’ve always had a boat with a some teak because that is what makes the boat really beautiful.  However, in our 30 years of boating along the East Coast, finding someone to do quality varnishing at a reasonable price has been elusive.  If we got a reasonable price, the end product was “just OK”.  The top quality jobs also busted our budget.
Last year, we purchased a new (to us, but in fact 10 years old) boat that had a tired varnish and needed several areas redone.  Our research lead us to Hill Varnish, and for the first time, we got a top quality varnish job and a very reasonable price.  The exterior varnish now has a year on it, spent the winter months in the southern sun, and still looks excellent.  Count us a satisfied customers who will be going back to Hill Varnish for our work from now on."
